I recently purchased a trial kit from Mixology Makeup. I usually hate mineral makeup trials because they always come in a little ziplock, which is impossible to utilize with a makeup brush. So right off the bat, I was thrilled with the tiny little pods that Mixology comes in. I couldn't wait to try out my samples!
I received one sample of each of the following:
Pirate eyeshadow
Suga for eyes, lips, and face
Plum Liner
Just Peachy blush
Fray eyeshadow
I didn't request certain shades, instead I opted for a surprise mix. I was very pleased with the selection. Each shade complimented my complexion beautifully. Furthermore, I feel like the shades could compliment numerous complexions very easily and beautifully.
Pirate is a dark purple that worked nicely on me. It does not seem as vibrantly purple as pictured.
Suga is a nice light pink shimmer that works as an excellent hi-lighter for your eyes or face. I love the color.
Normally I wear black liner, no matter what the base shade of shadow I am wearing. Plum provided a nice change of pace and actually worked quite nicely with my eyes.
I was quite nervous when I saw Just Peachy in the package. Peach and me just don't mix. I decided to give it a try anyway. I am glad I did. It is an excellent color. It has just enough peach and sparkle to make it a gorgeous color.
Fray is advertised as the perfect shade. I have to agree. This shade worked beautifully with my complexion. It is a beautiful shade that changes slightly to match anything.
My overall impression is that the make-up is a very nice blend. It works beautifully to create smooth, build-able coverage. It had great staying power as well. I will definitely be trying more products in the Mixology line.
thanks for the review! i'll have to check them out! i need some new make-up :)
