Driver Etiquette

When you are driving in your car, there is not an invisible forcefield around you. People can actually see what you are doing. When at a red light, do not pick your nose. I believe it has been said many times. But I guess, the trend hasn't caught on yet. Yes, I can see you, even though my car is behind yours. Those tricky side mirrors allow me an oh so awesome view of you, the nose picker.

Fated?

Is life more like the movie Frequency or The Time Machine?

In Frequency, he could go back in time and change the present. In The Time Machine, no matter what he did, his true love still died.

Brian and I have discussed this before. hmm..

Eerie Coincidence or Just Eerie?

There are two kinds of people in this world. Those that believe in ghosts and those that do not. Say what you will but I find it quite odd that both Brian, my skeptical husband, and I were both feeling eerie vibes last night.

I awoke in the middle of the night to one of Caedan's toys playing its usual song. So I quickly do a check. Raven in bed, check. Brian in bed, check. Caedan still in bed, check. Everyone asleep in one very full bed. Hmm... ok. What made the Bouncing Zebra start singing? Maybe I am just super sensitive in the middle of the night, but it creeped me out. Especially since it takes a lot to make it sing when trying. I happened to tell Brian about it and he mumbled something. It took me awhile to fall back asleep.

The next morning I was talking to Brian about how the toy weirded me out in the middle of the night and said I had trouble sleeping after that. He then proceeded to tell me that he couldn't sleep last night either and when he was asleep he dreamt of ghosts. Eerie or just coincidence?

To answer your questions further, no we didn't watch any scary movies before bed, no Vampire Diaries, no True Blood, nothing to get the mind wandering in the ghost direction.

I guess we will see what tonight brings.

Another Way to Interact with the Neighbors

I have found the perfect way to force interaction with your neighbors. Lock your keys in the car. I highly recommend locking not only the car keys, but the house keys and your purse as well. This almost ENSURES a fantastic time!

Now for those of you wondering what kind of genius it takes to do this, I will tell you. It takes a lot of talent and not straying from your routine. I also recommend having a car that locks differently than your husband's car. All of this put together makes for a tremendously fun occasion.

I own a CX-7. It does not allow you to lock your keys in the car. This is a highly coveted feature, that I am sure Brian was very pleased to purchase the upgrade for. He might have been recalling a nightmarish drive from Bethesda to Frederick, back to Gaithersburg and then home again to Frederick, all in rush hour traffic, when purchasing the CX-7 features. In my defense, he should have kept my spare with him, and not at home. Fast forward a bit. After nearly 3 years of having a routine of getting in and out of my CX-7, Brian decides to take it to band practice. Well, don't you know I am starving and can't wait any longer for him to get home. Well, my CX-7 routine does not transfer too well to the Eclipse and well.... lock-out!

I call Brian and ask him to come home to bail me out. I wait about a half hour or more and get to have an intriguing conversation with a neighbor. Finally, Brian arrives. I am freezing. He then proceeds to tell me he has no idea where his spare is... umm what? Of course, that is also my fault, even though he admits to gathering all the materials in order to sell the car, which never happened.

Fast forward some more. Tow truck is called in order to bail us out of our mess and probably give the neighbors more stories to share about us. Oh well. What is $55 for nothing anyway? Oh wait, $55 to freeze outside and talk to neighbors. I stand corrected. It was well spent.

If you couldn't follow this and it seems ramblely to you, you aren't the only one.

Mixology Makeup

I recently purchased a trial kit from Mixology Makeup. I usually hate mineral makeup trials because they always come in a little ziplock, which is impossible to utilize with a makeup brush. So right off the bat, I was thrilled with the tiny little pods that Mixology comes in. I couldn't wait to try out my samples!

I received one sample of each of the following:

Pirate eyeshadow
Suga for eyes, lips, and face
Plum Liner
Just Peachy blush
Fray eyeshadow

I didn't request certain shades, instead I opted for a surprise mix. I was very pleased with the selection. Each shade complimented my complexion beautifully. Furthermore, I feel like the shades could compliment numerous complexions very easily and beautifully.

Pirate is a dark purple that worked nicely on me. It does not seem as vibrantly purple as pictured.

Suga is a nice light pink shimmer that works as an excellent hi-lighter for your eyes or face. I love the color.

Normally I wear black liner, no matter what the base shade of shadow I am wearing. Plum provided a nice change of pace and actually worked quite nicely with my eyes.

I was quite nervous when I saw Just Peachy in the package. Peach and me just don't mix. I decided to give it a try anyway. I am glad I did. It is an excellent color. It has just enough peach and sparkle to make it a gorgeous color.

Fray is advertised as the perfect shade. I have to agree. This shade worked beautifully with my complexion. It is a beautiful shade that changes slightly to match anything.

My overall impression is that the make-up is a very nice blend. It works beautifully to create smooth, build-able coverage. It had great staying power as well. I will definitely be trying more products in the Mixology line.
